NEW YORK, Apr. 12, 2021 –– The Institute of International Education (IIE) is pleased to announce Nina M. Smith as its new Chief Philanthropy Officer. IIE’s philanthropic efforts are a critical part of the organization’s ability to advance its mission by supporting students and scholars during times of crisis, widening access to international exchange, and empowering under-resourced populations to thrive in a globalized world.
Nina brings a wealth of fundraising experience to IIE from a range of sectors, including start-ups, K-12, higher education, and the international humanitarian world. Most recently, she led the Principal and Planned Giving teams at the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and has led comprehensive fundraising strategies at New York University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the University of Northern Colorado.
