IIE Congratulates Board Chairman Mark A. Angelson on Prospective Presidential Nomination

NEW YORK, May 28, 2024 – The Institute of International Education (IIE), the non-partisan world leader in international educational exchange, scholar rescue, and steward of prestigious programs such as the Fulbright Scholarships on behalf of the U.S. Department of State, extends congratulations to Chairman of the Board, Mark A. Angelson, whose prospective nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Kingdom of Norway was announced by the White House today. IIE has a longstanding and strong relationship with Norway, which has been particularly instrumental in much of our scholar rescue work in Europe.

In addition to Mark’s longstanding leadership of IIE, he has served as  Chair of the Board of Governors of Rutgers University and is a life trustee of Northwestern University. Mark Angelson’s career spans multiple fields including law, business, education, and public service, showcasing his multifaceted expertise. As a prominent business leader, he has held top executive roles, including Chairman and CEO of two Canadian public companies and CEO of RR Donnelley, then a Fortune 200 company with a global presence. His earlier years were marked by a distinguished career as an international lawyer, further solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished professional.

Angelson currently serves in the Executive Office of the President of the United States as a member of the President’s Intelligence Advisory Board.
