How to Apply

Program requirements

The Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for ESD seeks 10 participants from a broad cross-section of the U.S. primary and secondary educational community in order to reflect the rich cultural, institutional, and regional diversity of the United States. Ten teachers from across Japan will also be selected to participate in the 2018 program.

Participants will be required to attend the Joint Conference in the U.S. from April 30-May 2, as well as the program in Japan from June 19-July 1. Therefore, at the time of application, all applicants must receive prior approval from their school and/or district to attend both the Joint Conference in May and the program in Japan in June.

All applicants to the program will be notified of their status by the middle of March.

Please contact the Institute of International Education at esdteacher@iie.org with any questions about the program or application.
