Eligibility and Selection Criteria 

NextGen Service Fellowship

Eligibility 

All applicants must be U.S. citizens and meet the following criteria by the application deadline: 

  • 21 years or older  
  • Enrolled as a student at a partner university as of May 1, 2025 (see list below) 
  • Available to participate in an international summer 2025 internship, service-learning, or volunteer project for a 4-week period between mid-July and mid-August 
  • All fields of study are eligible 

Selection Criteria 

  • Interest and/or Commitment to a Career in the Humanitarian and Development Sector 
  • Academic Merit 
  • Leadership and Responsibility  
  • Flexibility and Adaptability

  • Columbia University: School of International and Public Affairs
  • Duke University: Sanford School of Public Policy or Nicholas School of the Environment  
  • Harvard Center for International Development student affiliates
