JAdi Pengusaha MandiRI (Become an Independent Entrepreneur, otherwise known as JAPRI) provides poor and vulnerable (P&V) youth ages 18-30 in Indonesia with entrepreneurship knowledge and other basic business skills, and links them to additional ongoing support that will help them start new businesses or grow their existing ones. JAPRI is implemented by a consortium that includes the Institute of International Education (IIE) as the lead and Prestasi Junior Indonesia (PJI) and Mien R Uno Foundation (MRUF) as partners. The consortium brings complementary strengths to JAPRI —entrepreneurship expertise and a proven ability to work directly with P&V youth in Indonesia. JAPRI is funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development.
In July 2019, JAPRI expanded its work to implement the Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP) Initiative and supports activities focused on young women in selected business sectors in East Java. For W- GDP activitiesJAPRI leveraged the technical expertise of Kelompok Perempuan dan Sumber-Sumber Kehidupan/Women's Groups and Sources of Life (KPS2K). KPS2K is experience in implementing gender based programs in Sidoarjo, East Java. Under JAPRI, KPS2K supports the gender components in the existing JAPRI module and conducts gender training for new stakeholders.
