Global Mobility in Flux: A Project Atlas Dialogue

How is the tempo of global mobility changing? What beats resonate in Europe? This session will explore recent shifts in international student mobility, drawing on Project Atlas research to highlight leading host destinations and emerging sending countries. The discussion will provide a global overview of factors shaping mobility, and we will share specific insights from Germany and Italy.

Boosting Access for Displaced Students: The Power of Global Collaborations

As global displacement continues to disrupt access to education, higher education institutions and national agencies are developing new models of collaboration to support refugee and displaced students. This panel session will highlight two innovative initiatives – the Global University Academy and the EU Mobility Programme for Myanmar – that exemplify how strategic partnerships can create sustainable academic pathways in crisis settings.

The Partnership Revolution: New Data on Higher Education

In 2025, the Institute of International Education (IIE) and the EAIE launched the International Partnership Landscape Survey, a multi-year study of how higher education institutions (HEIs) around the world are building and sustaining international partnerships. This session will present early findings from the US, Canada and the four EAIE-defined regions of Europe, showing how these partnerships have expanded over the past decade in scope, purpose, geography and institutional influence. As higher education becomes more interconnected and collaborative, participants will be invited to reflect on what these findings mean for the future of international education and how they can apply them in their own work.
