Global Innovation Initiative

The Global Innovation Initiative awarded grants to university consortia focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-related issues of global significance that foster cutting-edge multinational research and strengthen institutional international partnerships.

Overview

The Global Innovation Initiative was a joint effort of the United States and the United Kingdom to strengthen global multilateral collaboration through grants to university consortia focusing on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)-related issues of global significance that foster cutting-edge multinational research and strengthen institutional international partnerships.

Awards

The U.S. grant competition awarded a total of 16 grants ranging from $100,000 to $200,000.

Strengthening Bonds

The Global Innovation Initiative grants brought mutual benefit to higher education institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom and selected countries with growing economies through the enhancement of institutional ties and the development of multilateral relationships.
