Eligibility

Barrié grantees hold bachelors, masters or doctorate degrees, have excellent academic records, speak fluent English, and link directly to Galicia where their clear project plans yield great social returns. Direct linkage to Galicia can be established by meeting at least one of the following criteria: having Galicia as a place of birth; having a father or mother born in Galicia; having status as a current resident of Galicia for at least 3 years; and/or having graduated from one of the following prestigious Galician universities (Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Universidade de Vigo or Universidade da Coruña). In addition, candidates must be Spanish citizens. Candidates in all areas of studies are welcomed to apply; candidates who can prove a high potential social impact to the Galician community have a higher probability of receiving the scholarship.
