The crisis in Syria has created an academic emergency, with the break-down of higher education within the country and major obstacles facing Syrian students and scholars. In response, IIE is leading a consortium of 60 higher education institutions around the world that have committed support for Syrian students and scholars, primarily in the form of full and partial scholarships.
Scholarship Opportunities through Syria Consortium Member Institutions
If you are interested in applying for one of the 2017 Syria Consortium scholarship opportunities, please visit the "University Scholarships" website. Students apply directly to potential host universities. Each institution will run their own admissions process and will have a separate timeline.
Each university will have their own admission criteria (e.g., TOEFL, IELTS, SAT). To apply, you must follow the instructions posted on the online portal. For questions, please reach out to the institutional contact. Please make sure to check these scholarship listings carefully for fields of study, application requirements, and instructions on how to apply. In most cases, to apply you will be required to apply via the university's own application for international students.
Syria Consortium member universities offer full tuition scholarships as well as partial scholarships. Please read each scholarship posting carefully and reach out to the university contact if you have questions. Please note that students applying directly to universities are not part of the IIE Scholarship Program for Syrian Students.
