As our world has become unsure amidst a global health crisis, IIE is working hard to enable higher education institutions to connect with each other, stay up-to-date on critical topics, and share expertise and experiences. We hope you’ll join us for one or more of these initiatives, which are free of charge with your IIENetwork membership. Alongside conducting the most up to date research on how the world of international education is responding to the COVID-19 crisis, we have developed two new engagement tools to create space for members to share information, what is working, and challenges they face. We will continue to announce new topics and content in future.

Perspectives from U.S. Institutions and International Students: Fall 2020 Decisions, Preparations, Complexity | Register for Webinar
This joint webinar by the College Board and IIE will present new survey findings on the perspectives of U.S. higher education institutions and international students on plans for the academic year 2020/2021. The College Board administered a survey to over 10,000 international students worldwide, asking about their plans for future international study and the reasons behind their decision-making. IIE administered the third survey in its COVID-19 Snapshot Survey Series to over 2,000 U.S. higher education institutions, tracking institutional plans for the next academic year and how this will impact options for international students. The data will be complemented by a discussion with representatives from two U.S. higher education institutions and the decisions and challenges they are facing regarding their international student populations in fall 2020. The complementary views from institutions and international students will provide the necessary context to understand the complex global mobility picture in fall 2020.

U.S. Higher Education Response to COVID-19: Findings from IIE’s Third COVID-19 Survey | Register for the Webinar
This webinar will present the new findings from IIE’s third COVID-19 Survey in the COVID-19 Snapshot Survey Series. The Institute of International Education (IIE) is studying the effects of COVID-19 (coronavirus) on global student mobility at U.S. higher education campuses: travel restrictions of international students to U.S. campuses; U.S. students studying abroad or planning to study abroad; and plans and recruitment for academic year 2020/21. Our aim is to learn more about the effects the global pandemic has had on your campus, and the measures your higher education institution is taking to support students on campus or abroad, as well as for students planning to study abroad. This is the third survey in the COVID-19 Snapshot Survey Series. The findings from the first two surveys are available on IIE’s website: COVID-19 Snapshot Survey Series
The Day-by-Day series offers small group discussions that are informal, lightly facilitated conversations among peers on specific topics that are of relevance during the COVID-19 crisis. The number of participants will be limited and sign up will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
