IIE Syria Consortium Partner Scholarships:

Avrasya University

Application Requirements: NO Requirements for language; Avrasya University YÖS is required. When the students arrives to the campus, the exam will be implemented.

The following documents shall be handed in the course of registration for Avrasya University:

  1. High School Diploma: A notarized translation of the diploma (if your diploma is not issued in English,Russian or Turkish)
  2. Equivalence Certificate: High School Diploma Equivalence Certificate issued by the Turkish Embassy/Consulates in your country or the Provincial Directorates of National Education in Turkey. Diplomas issued by Ministry of National Education of Turkish Republic do not need equivalence certificate.
  3. High School Transcript: Original and the approved translations of your high school transcript.
  4. Tuition Payments: The proof of payment can be the bank receipt or the print-out of the e-receipt, if paid through a bank branch or via online banking, respectively.
  5. Passport scan copy: including the student's photograph, identity information, address details and the date of last entry to Turkey.
  6. Two photographs
  7. Residence Permit: If available, a copy of the residence permit. Those who do not have residence permits must visit the Bureau of Foreign Residence at the General Directorate of Security after enrolling to obtain their residence permit; and must submit the copies of the relevant pages to Student Services within one month of their enrollment.

Jusoor

100 Syrian Women, 10,000 Syrian Lives Scholarship Program

This scholarship is open to Syrian women who have demonstrated exemplary social service with leadership, academic excellence, and civic responsibility, who have characteristics reflecting the importance of empathy, humility, courage and resilience, and who have potential to serve as global leaders.

It is lead by Jusoor and administered as part of the IIE-led Syria Consortium for Higher Education in Crisis. Key partners are Jusoor, the Institute for International Education (IIE), Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), EducationUSA, and Monmouth College.

The scholarship amount is up to $50,000 per student, which will be awarded on a needs-basis. The funding will contribute towards tuition and fees, living expenses, and fees related to university applications, required tests, and the visa application. Students who get to the final rounds of selections will be asked to fill in a financial assessment form to determine their ability to contribute financially to their studies. The scholarship will cover the remaining expenses up to $50,000 per student.

Applicants who have not started applying to universities yet and who get the scholarship will be supported during the application process, including in identifying institutions that will provide complementary funding.

Scholarship recipients will be required to participate in leadership and career development workshops during their studies.
