IIE Kyiv: Ukraine Office
IIE’s Ukraine office administers Fulbright programs in Ukraine. Up to 100 Ukrainian and U.S. students and scholars participate in academic exchange programs that create mutual understanding between the grantees and their hosts in both Ukraine and the U.S.
Currently the “Ukraine Beyond Borders” Fulbright program for U.S. participants is open, yet other programs that take place inside Ukraine have been suspended for security purposes.
What programs or scholarships do we manage?
- We provide opportunities for Ukrainian and U.S. students, scholars, and professionals. Programs include research and teaching grants, higher education scholarships, and support for those affected by crises. They also help build strong connections between Ukrainian and U.S. institutions.
What role does the Kyiv office play?
IIE Kyiv manages scholarships, grants, and professional programs to help students and scholars continue their education in challenging times. We support displaced universities, strengthen institutional capacity, and foster international collaboration to keep Ukraine’s higher education connected and resilient.
Our Work
Our office supports Fulbright Program alumni, now totaling over 1,200 Ukrainian and more than 800 U.S. students and scholars. We also run initiatives such as SUDUS for displaced universities, emergency research scholarships, veteran scholarships, and the Ukrainian Science Centre of Excellence—all aimed at rebuilding and strengthening Ukraine’s educational and research communities.
