IIE Passport Awards for Study Abroad were established to create pathways to study abroad for high school students.

About the Passport Awards

As part of the IIE Generation Study Abroad initiative, the Institute established the IIE Passport Awards for Study Abroad in 2014 to create pathways to study abroad for high school students so that they can acquire global skills and expand personal and professional opportunities as part of their college education.

Who Can Apply?

The program is currently offered in the six cities where IIE has offices: Chicago, Denver, Houston, New York, San Francisco and Washington, DC. IIE invites select organizations who work to empower underserved low-income & minority youth with leadership and global/cross cultural skills to nominate students for an IIE Passport Award.

Nomination Process

IIE invites select organizations who work to empower underserved low-income & minority youth with leadership and global/cross cultural skills to nominate students for an IIE Passport Award. Each organization is invited to nominate 10 outstanding students for an IIE Passport Award for Study Abroad.
