IIE Almaty

IIE opened a new office in Almaty, Kazakhstan in April 2023 to better serve our sponsors and partners in the region. Our current focus areas include:

  • Promoting and recruiting students for scholarships at the New York University in Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) and the Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI)
  • Providing logistical and programmatic support for US government funded programs designed for students, scholars, and teachers of English  
  • Communicating with higher education officials at universities and government institutions in the region to develop and fund higher education capacity building initiatives including university partnership programs, professional study tours, and strategic planning for system-wide academic excellence   
  • Supporting initiatives from private and government institutions for international education and exchange programs which improve and sustain bi-lateral and multi-lateral relationships between Central Asia and U.S. citizens   
  • Supporting initiatives from global corporations active in Central Asia for international education initiatives and exchange programs which are designed to benefit specialists in industry
